A typographic exploration into the development of communication, inspired by the 150th anniversary of the Penny Black – the world’s first adhesive postage stamp. The historic timeline is visualized on each page with the clever use of horizontal and vertical lines which interrupt and influence the layout of each spread. Historic documentation and photography are displayed throughout. The timeline was carried onto the exterior of the book in the form of a single red string across the binding. The book was hand finished and perfect bound.
